A bit about the role:
Our Underwriters play an important role in assessing each customers’ propensity to pay. Whilst using a set of pre-defined guidelines, customer information and credit referencing agency data, our Underwriters apply a holistic approach to make the right decisions for our customers and Go Car Credit. Where and when:
The working hours will be 37.5-hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am – 8pm with weekend and bank holiday working with time off in the week. It’s important that you can demonstrate flexibility in the times you can work. You must also have the ability to work alone and as part of a team to support processing customer information effectively.
What you need:
Our best candidates will be able to clearly show:
- A highly organised approach and their ability to self-manage time efficiently
- Excellent communication skills on all levels together with the ability to build and maintain rapport with colleagues
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- An awareness of the importance of regulatory guidelines is essential and an up to date working knowledge of FCA regulations is essential
- Understanding of the non-prime motor finance market is desirable along with some knowledge of vehicles
- Experience of confident decision making in previous underwriting roles with non-prime and near-prime motor finance underwriting is desirable.
