Liquidity & Funding Manager
About The Role
Go Car Credit is a specialist motor finance lender supporting those with less than perfect credit scores to get behind the wheel. Our hire purchase deals don’t just get people a great car – they give people the chance to rebuild their credit score too.
To support strategic growth, we’re looking for a Liquidity and Funding Manager to join our Finance team, based at our Portsmouth office.
The role holder will take ownership and deliver high-quality funder reporting while keeping funding operations running smoothly and under control. They will also take the lead on preparing reporting packs and supporting schedules, managing funding sweeps, loan sales, and other funding events, and acting as a trusted point of contact for funders. From handling queries to leading audit support, they will make sure information is accurate, accessible, and delivered with confidence, effectively communicating with both senior and operational stakeholders to approach challenges in a pragmatic, outcome-focused way.
This role will be key in maintaining the integrity of financial data through hands-on ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and funder accounts, as well as supporting cash forecasting and liquidity management, helping to ensure everything adds up and stands up to scrutiny through staying close to the detail, proactively identifying and resolving issues, and keeping audit trails clear, robust, and ready when needed, while supporting month-end activities to keep things on track.
The working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, however due to the level of the role we would expect some flexibility.
Responsibilities
Funder Reporting
- Preparation of regular funder reporting packs, including supporting schedules
- Execution and monitoring of funding sweeps and related reconciliations
- Execution of loan sales and funding events
- Ownership of funder audits with data preparation and evidence gathering
- Responding to funder queries and information requests
Financial Control
- Cash forecasting and liquidity management
- Ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations / funder accounts
- Performing regular control checks to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Identification and investigation of discrepancies and data issues
- Maintaining clear audit trails and documented working papers
- Supporting month end close processes where needed
What you need:
- Experience of managing cashflow in previous roles
- Experience of cashflow forecasting
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Focus on continuous improvement across both quality and performance
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Confident communicator with senior and operational stakeholders
- Pragmatic, strategic, and outcome-focused
- Proven experience of reconciliations, reporting or financial controls role within a similar environment
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel
- Comfortable working in excel-heavy, manual environments
- Previous exposure to funders, auditors, or external reporting is desirable but not essential
- Part-qualified/Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
